“Warming Our People, Wherever They Are”: WOG handed over 1,000,000 chemical heating pads to the Territorial Defence Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

Hypothermia and frostbite are quite subtle enemies in winter. Military personnel defending Ukraine on the front lines have limited prospects to keep warm. Conscious of the need, WOG filling station network in cooperation with the Charity Fund “+380” under the project “Warming Our People, Wherever They Are” purchased and handed over 1,000,000 chemical heating pads to the Territorial Defence Forces of the AFU.

This is perhaps the largest one-time charitable supply of chemical heating pads for the Defence Forces.

Each defender will receive two types of heating pads: a pair of chemical heating pads for hands or a pair of heated insoles for shoes. Their working temperature is up to 45-60°C, which is maintained and warms the defenders for up to 8 hours. Such heaters can be put in shoes, gloves, pockets, etc. to keep them warm.

“To warm the defenders, WOG purchased more than 1 million chemical heating pads. We wanted to give them as a gift for the Christmas and New Year holidays, but the situation at the border prevented this. Despite a bit of a delay, the warriors will receive much needed support in the coming days. The sets of chemical heating pads will be distributed among the TDF units that protect Ukraine in the ranks of the Defence Forces,” Hennadii Karlinskyi, marketing director of the WOG filling station network, emphasized.

“Most military personnel today are in platoon strongpoints (PS) and company positions (CP). It is difficult to equip these places with potbelly stoves and other heating means. As for chemical heating pads, they enable the military to warm up at least to some extent and, which is extremely important, to prevent hypothermia. Any support for the defenders is important from the point of view of boosting their moral and psychological condition, and providing them with chemical heating pads is not only making the defenders warm but also help to maintain their health,” noted Volodymyr Sakhnevych, colonel, head of logistics, deputy commander of the Territorial Defence Forces of the AFU.

“The synergy of responsible business and charitable organizations makes it possible to strengthen the defence capability and readiness for mobilization of the country, helping to anticipate our Victory. These days, when the daily temperature is kept at -10°C, servicemen of the Territorial Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine need individual means of heating more than ever, in particular hands and feet chemical heating pads. That is why the collaboration of our foundation and the WOG filling station network under the project "Warming Our People, Wherever They Are" is aimed at protecting servicemen who are currently in the area of combat missions”, Oleksandr Pashynin, founder of the “+380” Charitable Foundation, pointed out

The International Charitable Foundation “Eurovector” provided assistance in organizing operational logistics for the reception and shipment of humanitarian cargo.

For your reference

Chemical heaters contain iron powder, activated carbon and substances that retain heat. They are stored in a tightly closed bag, which must be opened immediately before use to make the mixture heat up under the influence of air, and the heaters will be warming up the defenders for 4-8 hours.
