Over-the-counter medicines are now available at the first 12 WOG petrol stations

The WOG Petrol Station Network has launched a pilot project to sell over-the-counter medicines at 12 petrol stations. For the trial run, WOG has mainly selected motorway service stations in the Khmelnytskyi and Dnipropetrovsk Regions. This format allows customers to quickly purchase the medicines they need without having to search for a pharmacy downtown or in an unfamiliar area.

“For the pilot project, we have prioritised motorway service stations and plan to analyse our customers’ feedback, as well as test several hypotheses, such as which products will be in highest demand, which format, display location and navigation will be most convenient, and to evaluate operational procedures and other aspects. This will be particularly convenient for travellers and drivers of large vehicles that are difficult to park near city pharmacies, as well as residents of small towns and villages near our petrol stations where access to pharmacies is limited,” says Pavlo Shybaiev, Director of Retail Management at the WOG Petrol Station Network.

WOG offers a basic range of over-the-counter medicines, including:

• painkillers, fever reducers and anti-inflammatories;
• cold remedies and antivirals;
• treatments for a congested nose, coughs and sore throats;
• medicines for cardiovascular and nervous system disorders;
• products for digestive disorders and enterosorbents;
• ointments, creams and solutions for external use.

Bandages, other medical supplies, vitamins and dietary supplements are also available for purchase.

Please note that all 12 pilot petrol stations where over-the-counter medicines are available:

• are barrier-free;
• are open 24 hours a day;
• if necessary, operate as Points of Invincibility (they are equipped with generators and have access to the internet and water);
• have a sufficient number of parking spaces.

Based on the results of the pilot project, a decision will be made regarding the further scaling of this format.
