“MEGAKAVA donates for “wings”: first results

WOG and the Dignitas Fund handed over the first 3 ARES UAV systems to the military

As part of the MEGAKAVA Donates to Wings project, the WOG filling stations chain and the Dignitas Charitable Fund have handed over three brigade-type unmanned aerial systems (UAVs) to three combat units: 54th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa, 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade and 31st Separate Mechanised Brigade. The funds were donated by WOG guests who bought their favourite drinks in MEGA cups starting from 1 April.

The charity initiative will last until 31 May. Every Ukrainian can join it. To do this, it is enough to buy drinks in MEGA cups at any WOG filling station. The company will transfer UAH 5 from each of these drinks to purchase UAVs. Alternatively, any amount can be donated to the project’s bank account

This is the second year in a row that WOG and its partners have been implementing the MEGAKAVA Donates for Wings project. Its goal is to provide the Defence Forces with drones. Ukrainians can join in any way convenient for them: by buying MEGAKAVA at our filling stations or by transferring a donation from anywhere in the world, or even while watching football matches on MEGOGO using a special QR code. In the first two weeks, we have accumulated funds for five complexes, three of which have already been delivered to the military. Despite the fact that recently it has been said that Ukrainians are tired of supporting, the outcome of the project shows a high level of unity and desire to support the defenders on their way to victory,” said Mykola Shkurynskyi, Regional Director of Zhytomyr Filling Station Management Directorate of WOG, who directly handed over the UAVs to the military.

“The Armed Forces of Ukraine are desperately in need of reconnaissance wings up to 80 km to eliminate most of the enemy’s equipment, preventing it from reaching the front line. We have launched a fundraising campaign for the ARES photo UAV. Over the past week, I have been asked by two dozen military units where they can buy it. These are technologies that we already have. And manufacturers can produce them, but the demand is much lower than for other drones. In this project, however, Dignitas, together with WOG and the manufacturer, managed to create the fastest and shortest possible link from raising the necessary funds to getting the drones to the military. But even the best “wings” work properly only when operated by skilled pilots. That is why all the crews receiving the systems under the project undergo professional training organised by the team of our Victory Drones training project. And this is something that everyone can get involved in today — just telling about existing solutions, recommending training programmes, launching fundraisers, supporting with donations,” emphasises Lyuba Shipovich, Director of the Dignitas Charitable Fund.

The ARES reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), designed for tactical-level military needs, has proven its effectiveness in photo reconnaissance of a larger area from a long distance for further data decryption, in FPV correction and confirmation of hits, and in laying corridors for further stages of reconnaissance operations. It is capable of penetrating up to 50 km behind enemy lines at speeds of up to 100 km/h, operating at temperatures from -15 C to +35 C, and the deployment time is 15 minutes.
